LITTLE COLLEEN

You're coming into my life sprinkled

Christmas Stardust on it.

With a blink of an eye

You became a part of our home called Summertime.

And with another blink of the eye

You left it like April snow.

You're big green eyes, red hair

And little turned-up nose prompted

Me to call you "My Little Irish Colleen."

The sun that always shines on Summertime

Has faded, there is great sadness

That your angel face is no longer here to light up

Our home.

My sweet Irish Colleen time will heal the sadness

But most of all my memories of your brief life at

Summertime will last beyond the rays of light that

Have always shined on this home.

SPRING AWAKENING

A rush of euphoria overcomes me

As trees bloom into an array of lilac, pink and white colors,

And the flowers show off their  beauty,

While my senses take over my life.

My eyes see the rebirth of my surroundings,

My ears hear the sounds of every bird that flies above me,

My nose is overwhelmed by the fragrances of the flowers

And the scent of the lilac trees,

As my lips repeat the wonder of this season of rebirth.

My love for all that is beautiful, fresh and wonderful

Outshines the rays of the sun

And my happiness overshadows rains that water the flowers.

So be it, this awakening of Spring never ceases year after year.

My Sweetheart

You are not a forgotten little soul, nor a nameless little cat,

You have a name, it is Sweetheart, and your life and spirit have a place

Not only in my heart, but in this earth life.

I was wrong for not taking you into my life while you

Walked by yourself on this earth.

You were always on my mind, and now you will be forever a part of it.

I know now you are happy with all the love and fulfillment you were denied

On this earth, and when you crossed over the Rainbow Bridge you were

Met with all the hugs and kisses from not only mortal spirits, but from

The spirits of other animals as well.

Life for you now is very beautiful, the way it should have been on earth.

We will be together one day, and I will give you all the love, hugs and kisses

That you can endure!

Continue to enjoy all the endless happiness that life now gives to you,

As I will always keep you in my heart until the day when you and I finally

Meet one another, My Sweetheart.

BELOVED HOPE

Life did not smile on you Hope

The way it should have done so,

But I always made sure you were content

And as happy as you could be.

You were so beautiful and sweet, and

Had the most gorgeous long whiskers

Of any cat I had ever seen.

You were like a little stuffed toy,

So soft, warm, cuddly and loving.

Living at "Summertime" always warmed the days

And just like the name I gave you, Hope was always there.

My lovely one, this is just a temporary departure,

So someday expect to see me with my arms open

To hug you and my lips ready to kiss you!

I love you, Hope.

LOVELY KELLY

You walked in beauty

An unforgotten ray of sunshine.

Like Sweetheart, you were loved,

Even though I never held you in my arms and kissed you,

You were always there.

You may have been a little cat who walked the street alone,

But I continually hoped that one day you could be

Playing and purring everyday at Summertime,

A home filled with love, peace, happiness, sharing

And hugs and kisses!

One day, in heaven, we will be joined together,

And forever live out our days in endless joy.
