My Invisible Friend…Wind

I feel your kiss
Upon my cheek
As you ruffle up my hair
I sense your breath
Hot on my back
I turn but no one’s there
You dance briskly with the trees
And whistle from time to time
I listen as you play music
On my front porch chimes
I’ve seen the damage you can do
In the wake of a storm
I’ve felt your bite deep in my skin
On a cold & wintry morn
Many times I’ve cursed you
For throwing dust in my eyes
And many times I’ve thanked you
With a cheerful sigh
I walk with you most every day
And miss when you’re not there…
Kissing softly on my cheek
And ruffling up my hair

Dancing on Clouds

He gently takes her hand
And invites her on to the floor
The look of confidence in his eyes
Reassured her of what he had in store
All else ceased to exist
As the music began to play
Like trees in the wind
Their bodies began to sway
The music seemed to take over
And control their every move
Right left right left right left
Their turns were oh so smooth
Like angels dancing on the clouds
Or butterflies in the wind
These precious moments of elation
They wished would never end!

A Walk on Endless Beach

A gentle breeze
Swaying trees
Waves crashing on the shore
Dogs frolicking
Children at play
Reggae coming from someone’s door
Sand castles left behind
In the sand
Two young lovers
Hand in hand
Footprints leading
Here & there
Pelicans diving
Everywhere
Parrots squawking
A happy tune
Howler monkeys
Singing at the moon
Sunset colors
Gold pink purple & blue
My heart yearns
To be here with you!

City Lights

I’ll never forget the beautiful sight
Of the warm-yellow glow
Of the city lights
As we sailed away
On our private ship
‘neath a blanket of stars
We began our trip
As I lay in the arms
Of the one I love
And we gazed into
The heavens above
I was overwhelmed
By a sweet serenity
And all of my problems
were soon set free

All About The Author

Born in East Texas

A small-town girl

With big aspirations

To see the world

Average student in school

This girl was not shy

For she was a majorette

In Grand Saline High

Just out of school

Diploma in hand

She applied to the airlines

Wanted to see this great land

Rules were strict those days…

Five-foot two inches tall

So this young lady was just 1/4” too small

She chose another path

Down life’s ominous trail…

She enrolled in college

And there met her male

Four years later

After their courting wooes

They walked down the aisle

And said their “I Do’s”

Anita Lynn Savage

Was now Mrs. Ferguson

And a new stage in life

Had just begun

Her dreams to travel

Had now come true

For her husband was a pilot

And away they flew

From Dallas to Las Vegas,

California & back

Her desire for adventure

She now did not lack

She gave birth

To two incredible boys

And amongst the diapers,

playpens, & toys

There were books & plotters,

maps & more…

Scattered here & there

All over the floor!

She read, studied,

Took classes & flew…

And on Friday the 13th,

She made her “solo” debut

With pilot’s license

now secure in hand

Her dreams had all come true

In this great land

Her husband decided to take a chance…

So they packed up their belongings

And moved to France

Communication with the citizens

Was really quite a pain…

Until she enrolled

In the Institute De Touraine

There she made many friends

From all o’er the world

Not too bad

for a small town girl

From France back to Dallas

Then off to Costa Rica…

Where she learned to speak Spanish

Like a genuine “Tica”

As life sometimes happens…

Her marriage broke apart

But she picked up the pieces…

 Actually did something quite smart…

She started dancing, got a job

Met the love of her life…

And of Feb. 24th

She became his wife

Poetry is just a hobby

She took up to ease the pain

Express her happiness

Sometimes even keep her sane
